Hair and Makeup Kit

This page includes a list of all hair and makeup items required for every Up Tempo Company performance. Please check with your instructor for any items unique to your classes/dances.

Makeup

  • Revlon Photoready Eye Contour Kit in Metropolitan 501

  • CoverGirl Outlast Lipstick in Classic Red 830

  • Ardell Deluxe Lashes number 110

  • NYX Glitter Primer (strongly suggested, if you have one already you may use)

  • Blush in a dark pink tone that will be seen from a distance

  • Foundation

  • Foundation Powder

  • Black Mascara

  • Black eyeliner

  • Red lip pencil to compliment lip stain

Hair

  • Dancers will wear their hair in Bun. 

  • Hair should be slicked straight back with no part.

  • Place hair into a ponytail in the middle of the back of the head (not low at the nape).

  • From the ponytail, create a bun secured close to the head.

  • Use a bun maker that matches the dancer’s hair color to help keep buns uniform. The size of the bun maker can be adjusted to match the hair length.

Important:
During the Hip Hop routine, dancers will remove the bun so the ponytail can fit through the opening in the back of the baseball cap to help secure the hat. For this reason, the ponytail should be positioned in the middle of the back of the head so it lines up with the hat opening.
